On Monday 22nd of October, the European Resource Efficiency Knowledge Centre will hold a workshop in Vienna, Austria, on the topic of SMEs, circularity and Cluster organisations. The workshop will be interactive and address topics related to cluster management, corporate support services, best environmental management practices, and tools for improving resource efficiency and circularity within companies.

The objectives of the workshop are:

  • To enable networking and engage cluster organizations into EREK and related resource efficiency/circular economy activities.
  • To raise awareness and enable cluster organizations to offer resource efficiency support services and tools in their sector activities.
  • Build capacity in resource efficiency, share knowledge and experience in the circular economy in the context of daily business.
  • Use synergies within different EU-projects and activities.

The main group of participants will consist of European Cluster Organizations willing to offer resource efficiency support services as well as business support organisations and professionals involved in resource efficiency and the circular economy.

The European Resource Efficiency Knowledge Centre (EREK for short) is here to help European companies, especially SMEs, save energy, material and water costs. We provide tools, information and business opportunities that show you new and better ways to be resource efficient and benefit from circular economy business models which turn waste into an asset. EREK supports national, regional and local organisations across Europe that work with SMEs to improve their environmental performance, helping them to become more resource efficient.

EREK is an initiative of the European Commission and it is implemented by a consortium of organisations including Technopolis Group, VDI Zentrum Ressourceneffizienz (DE), WRAP (UK), Motiva (FI), Enviros (CZ), WAAT and Arctik (BE).
